Where were the light shadows today
and the blue sky and clouds?
grey cloud, no mirrored leaves
no diamond copper leaves
touched by frost,
no hedgerow dusted white
by frozen skies.
no sun low stabbing my eyes
shining from brilliant skies.
the happy sparrows did not dance
the seagulls stayed away
But I saw a single crimson rose
which brightened up my day..
